EMM Group Restaurants are a Catch with New Yorkers

Mark Birnbaum is a powerful force in the hospitality industry, predominately in New York City. He got his start as a promotions director in 1998 as a promotions director in Ithica, New York, where he learned the ins and outs of a competitive and difficult industry. He then went on open his own nightlife venues and eventually formed EMM Group in 2006 with business partner and close friend Eugene Remm. EMM Group also welcomed Michael Hirtenstein as business continued to grow and experience inconceivable success. EMM Group is currently one of New York City’s largest hospitality companies, with several renowned restaurants and nightclubs in the Meatpacking District.

Mark Birnbaum and his EMM Group partners are largely credited with revamping nightlife and industry standards in New York City. Some of their most popular and successful venue undertakings in New York City are SL, Tenjune, Abe & Arthur’s, Lexington Brass and Catch. New Yorkers have had an incredible response to Catch in particular. Catch was instantly successful after opening in October of 2011. In addition to the sleek décor and friendly atmosphere, the menu showcases globally inspired seafood dishes that are nothing short of impeccable and delicious.

The seafood dishes at Catch, prepared by Top Chef winner Hung Huynh, have been described as “expertly cooked” and “mouth-watering.” The scallops are jumbo sized and cooked to perfection. The whole snapper is deep-fried, fluffy and enormous – both in size and taste. The scallop dumplings are also to-die-for.

Mark Birnbaum has been wowing crowds with his flawless execution of restaurants like Abe & Arthur’s, Lexington Brass and Catch. It comes as no surprise that an outpost of this New York City hotspot, Catch, is being opened in Miami this fall. Additionally, Mark Birnbaum and EMM Group are opening up SL next to Catch Miami, and 199 Bowery is also set to open in the fall.
