Mark Birnbaum and Eugene Remm Host Michael Capponi’s Birthday and Fundraiser Event

Mark Birnbaum and Eugene Remm of EMM Group are known for throwing the industry’s most lavish parties and transforming the hospitality industry in New York City with venues like Catch, Abe & Arthur’s and SL. When Michael Capponi, one of the most well-known names in South Beach nightlife, decided to throw a birthday party benefit, it only seemed fitting that Mark Birnbaum and business partner Eugene Remm lent a hand to co-host the extravagant event, contributing to an amazing evening for a good cause.

Michael Capponi donated all proceeds from the event to his personal endeavor, “Haiti Empowerment Mission”. The non-profit organization was founded to help revive the suffering economy in Haiti after the devastating earthquake back in 2010.

Alongside Mark Birnbaum and Eugene Remm to support the benefit was Richie Akiva and Ronnie Madra of Butter Group, Valmira Mavraj and Sarah Bromley of VIEvents, Jeffrey Jah and Mark Baker of The Double Seven. The official hosts of the event were Donna Karan and Maria Bello.

The night kicked off with a VIP cocktail hour and a silent auction where art work by Peter Tunney and Phillip Dodard were up for bid, as well as luxurious exclusive events with Michael Capponi himself. The night brought out the most glamorous of celebrities, hospitality industry mainstays and the town’s most beautiful models.

Despite their hectic schedules, Mark Birnbaum and Eugene Remm always find the time to contribute to a good cause. The evening was a huge success. In addition to being an enjoyable evening out, featuring a spontaneous carnival theme, over $120,000 was raised for Michael Capponi’s charity for Haiti.
